Trapping seasons coming-Lets TALK!!!!
Hey guys - Not sure how often people check this thread but had a newbie question. How do you store your lures and baits in winter?
I do not have a heated shed to keep my stuff in. Come winter if I leave it outside it will obviously freeze, especially fox urine, etc. I have been bringing it inside my cabin and putting it in ziplock bags inside of totes. This kind of works but usually you walk in and have that hint of skunk in the air yet....
Trying to figure out what I can do for winter trapping. Looking for some sort of scent proof tote or any other ideas. Part of my issue may be that I'm handling the bags with the same gloves, doesn't take much to smell.
I'm going to go. I thought about loading up the truck camper and spending a night, but I'm not sure yet. Usually the fall conventions are small when there's a big event in the summer like the NTA or FTA. I don't need much gear either. I should actually try to sell some stuff.
Well auction is done, sold all coyotes for $26.50 average helped greatly by one that graded Western heavy. $4.54 on rats with 1/3 being buy backs, $15.34 on coon: 20% bought back and those were mostly 2xls so would surely bring average down.
No matter what the prices are will still be back out this fall enjoying what Mother Nature provides.
