What county did you find the Hen?

Just curious, as we haven't found any hens or chickens for a while.  Actually, everything seems to be getting slow: oysters, chanterelles, and hedgehogs.

Hen of the Woods were available on Friday.  Pulled about 15# of them.  Have already eaten about 5# of them.  Rest are either being given away or being dehydrated/sealed for later use.  They are best fresh though, so trying to overdose on them currently.  Deer and Ducks and Fish were not around for us this weekend, but the mushrooms saved the weekend.

Found the first batch of oysters since early aug. Should be good coming up with all this rain and cooler temps. Also a few small chantrelles

I found this patch of mushrooms today but not sure what they are?  Can anyone give me an idea if they are good to eat and what species they are.

Thanks

Found a few chickens this afternoon on a hike with my wife does anyone have a favorite recipe to share with me i have sauteed with butter and onions, also tried in better than bouillon.                               I'm thinking about trying creamy chicken and rice, or just chicken and rice soup

We trimmed a few pounds 4 or 5 cups

Well....with the recent snow we had here in SE Wisconsin, the Gray Knights are now frozen and buried under 6" of snow !! Good thing I picked a bunch and put them up to eat at my leisure. There is always next season...

The Gray Knights are in !!! I picked a bunch for lunch today. First of the season. Great tasting mushroom. They will only come up more with this cooler/rainy weather. Have a great day
