Hey guy's, would like some insight on what types of leaders are best used, or do some of you prefer not to use any. Does it depend on clarity of water, fish species etc. Any insight would be appreciated.

Unless its musky i don't use any 'metal' leaders. Most rods I own are spooled with mono. I don't use leaders on those ever. My braid rods usually go to a small barrel swivel then 18 inches of p-line 8 lb floro. I use the floro for everything that swims. Never needed anything else.... bass, pike, walleye... Im one of those, lightest line that can be used, I use it guys.

If you decide to make your own, I have found the tieable titanium that you can get thru Bass Pro Shops to be very good. It's not their brand, but they sell it. I get the lowest poundage, then make my leaders short, maybe 8" long. Not cheap, but good stuff.
