Time to talk BREWERS!!!!
3/30/02 @ 9:29 AM
Yeah I know baseball is ruined and ther Brewerw are almost as severly hampered by Princess Prieb as they are the lack of revenue sharing, but Im still excited. I am probably crazy but I think the Crew should be .500 this year and if Sheets, Wright, Quevedo, and Nuegebaur pitch up to their potential and we dont swing at everything, I think the crew can win 90 and be in the wild card race late, which is something we havent seen in a long, long time. They must finish over .500 to avoid 10 years straight of losing seasons. I think it is time for a coup to remove Princess Prieb.

Being a Brewer fan since day one, I've seen it all !! If Rollie had stayed healthy Crew would have had a World Championship in 82, Big Foot (Pete Ladd couldn't close the door) By far best team ever........... This year not so much !! They will be a work in progress, young talent will be fun to watch. Will they win the division ? No
Can they play .500 ball, maybe. Will I watch every chance I get ? You bet !!
Go Brewers

Agree GT. There are very knowledgeable fans on both sides of the WI/IL sports/LL threads. Some good nature banter/jokes ( Hello Chi-Town!! ) is fine and part of any sports team rivalry. I just like talking sports with like minded folks. Having said all of that I don't expect much from the Brewers this year. To be honest we have a better chance of finishing last in our division than first (imo). Cubs have a better roster and of course CC. Reds have some of the best young position players in the game and have made some additions to their staff. Pirates also have some very good prospects and probably the best pitching prospect in MLB. As I stated earlier hoping to see Mitchell, Churio step up. Turang to improve at the plate etc. Have no doubt we will be sellers later in July. Long season so we will see what happens

Only a causal Brewer fan but certainly aware of the Chicago/Milwaukee rivalry. I for one welcome these educated Cub fans, their insite way better than mine. So if I happen to talk baseball I can speak intelligently. That said HOTBAIT,
Never heard term “ CUB SCOUTS”
Perfect nickname and will forever quote it!
Thanks

You don’t have to eat crow hotbait. Spring training games mean nothing other than getting guys in the game to see how they perform. Rea pictured a great 4 innings and held the Cubs hitless. Steele pitched well and both pitchers had quite a few strikeouts. Both teams struck out more than you like to see, but it’s early and there’s plenty of time to get that right. Brewers have some very good young players that are going to help them win a lot of games. It’s going to be a good rivalry and I think the whole division is going to be tough. I’m just glad to watch baseball again and I look forward to opening day.
