With the drop in Gas prices I was hoping that propane would follow . Last summer I filled the tank at .86 per gallon . Yesterday I called , and it was 1.59 . Sad Sad

river_chaser, your right and I appreciate the thought. I did do the pre buy thing, about 5 years ago. Was afraid I would not use it all and get stuck. LOL, little did I know. Somewhat wiser (?) now.

Phish you should always hedge and do some prebuy even if its not for the full winter supply.

And I would be very careful about prebuying a whole winters supply too. During the shortage a few years back some smaller propane companies went out of business and their prebuy customers had no legal rights to get their money back.  IMO big suppliers have more resources especially if they have their own semi rigs hauling propane.

a month ago I pd 1.36 for a fillup from Rusk County Supply and thats below my prebuy rate of 1.40.

I am reading today that LP supplies in the midwest were plentiful and above average for October.

Farmers have blown through alot drying corn this year. And now below avg temps will make it real interesting later in winter. Paid 1.44 in july for 1300 gallons.  Looking good now.

It seems like it is always higher up here. Vilas county, Eagle River, Conover, Land O' Lakes area. We just deal with it.

Website for Wis weekly propane price shows it's at $1.57, not sure why it was that high where you got it?

I locked in with prepay this year at $1.51 which at the time I thought was high but seems OK now.

Checked price Thursday...Hilgys at LOL...(excuse me) Land O' at was told $1.19.9. If I pay cash, which I always do, price is $1.09.9. We own our own tanks, so that makes a difference also. Just an FYI...

"Filled up at 1.03 today. So I am set til late december.  That price is a nickle higher than 2 weeks ago."

Got ours filled at 1.01 from Hilgeys. Should be good to go until Feb. Knock on wood, my Generac 20 kW back up generator is powered by our tank and if/when the power goes out, the house has run 4-5 days on it.
