All-star game is a joke, and being linked to home field advantage in the world series is ridiculous. Can't say I won't tune in to check out Brewers players though.

Best case scenario for Brewers would be to get rid of Braun and that ridiculous contract.  For the Yankees or Cubs that contract is okay.   But when your payroll is 60 million Braun is taking 1/3rd of that is outrageous

Yeah, the Brewers definitely do not have the money to spend (throw away) like the Cubbies! They did get Chase Anderson last year at 1/4 the cost of Chatwood. Lots better choice!

Cubbies pay $38 mil. over 3yrs for a 15 loss, 4.8era, oft injured pitcher! Guess the market has been set!

Yeah, Rikj, "someone" threatened to report anyone posting anything anti Cubs on the Cub thread! Actually think the Cubs are rated too high based on their under achievement this year! They fired all the coaches but still have the manager and the pitchers/ position players coming back unless they decide to spend more $!

Cubs are a team like the Packers with Rodgers after the first. After last year, many saw Cubs winning 2-4 titles in the next 10 years. Yes, they have a shot at a title probably every year in the next five, but to me, they are in a group of 7-10 every year that has a legitimate shot to win it. Takes some good fortune etc...They don't stand out anymore. Just a good team with $$ to spend, so they'll be in the mix. But, 20 years from now, they may not have that second title. Brewers will probably have a 3-5 year window they are in that 7-10 teams that could legitimately win it window.

River Man, you forgot to mention the Brewers at 30 - 1 or 14th place.......I'm a Brewer fan just sayin

You dangled the Cub worm all day and not a nibble, I think the boys south of the border finally have you pegged(it took them long enough)

Yep, they have the Dodgers as 5-1 favorites to win it all next year, followed by Cleveland and Houston. The Cubs have dropped all the way to #7 @ 10-1, even behind Boston!?? So many things can change!

Always find it interesting how after a series like this, a common thought is that we'll be seeing these teams a lot down the road. They'll be here again etc..I agree that the Dodgers and Astros have the makings of a team having a run for many years, but...

There are no guarantees. I always go back to Rodgers and the Pack. After his first, many thought there would be 3 or 5 more. Just hasn't happened.

Cleveland and Chicago last year. How do we know if/when they'll be back? Every year is so different. Especially in baseball.

Darn good WS, but not sure I’d say it was best ever.
