I find the massive amount of misinformed idiots in this country way more troubling for its future than some people buying Kia automobiles.

lumping all Unions into one , by saying your governor doesn't want Unions , if true, shows how shallow your governor is.. Field trade unions and factory unions are completely different..In field trade unions, we do our job, or we don't have one...

I have 2 Toyotas and I like them both. I won't go back to an American car... American cars are built by Union People and my governor keeps saying we don't want unions. I think he's wrong but I still like the cars I have...

Why did the American auto industry gut the manufacturing companies that supplied them? When foreign car makers use more American made parts than their US competitors, I think loyalty goes out the window. Most foreign manufacturers are building cars in the states, so when you buy foreign, in many cases, you are supporting more US jobs.

In today's global economy, does it really matter where your car or truck comes from anymore? Sure, a car made overseas pays the salary of someone not from America but I'd bet that my 401K investments that I have in International Funds benefit in some way from the profits of foreign car companies.

By the way, my 2001 Dodge Ram that is still alive and kicking was assembled in Mexico. Says right inside the driver's door.

Henco en Mexico!

I submitted this kia thread to do just as it is with the Lake link debate. I don't understand myself why people would gut our american auto manufacturing to buy any forign vehicle. I personally own a 2014 ford taurus and a 2015 Ford F250 powerstroke. It kills me to see forign cars especially korean. Have fun debating. Icebelt

Former union member here, plus my Dad worked for Chev, Olds and Ford. So yeah this family was raised, nurtured and prospered on those American cars.

So in my early adulthood, up til age 35 I was loyal to the American products. But after being treated disloyally by all of them, first ford then chevy then dodge I tried the Japs products and I must say those people(Japanese) bought and paid for my loyalty. Subaru went overboard (by american standards) in living up to the warranty. My dad even started buying toyotas. I am on my second subaru and I have no intention of going back to cars made by the big three. After driving Ford trucks for several years, my inlaws drive toyotas and hondas and they dont even sniff around big three car lots anymmore. This isnt about image and advertising, this is about actual experience.

I dont fault the factory workers for these issues. Its fault lies with the white bread mentality in the upper management.
