I really enjoy a good beer, but the last few years I've been drinking more and more red wine.  Heart healthy, and all around better for you than beer.

For the most part I enjoy a dark, dry, red wine.  That said, King Estate from Oregon has the best Pinot Noir I've had to date.  Anyone else have any favorites?  Dave, I know you can add to the list!

Okay Xray, anyway you slice it, you deviated to a light bodied red.

No complaints here, that’s my mainstay, just a bit unusual from your usual haunts...

<sigh> much to learn you have my not so young padawan.  Too old to train the council told me, but defiant I was.  I will turn you to the dark side.  No more mass produced negociant cali reds I see in your future......

That’s a little surprising to me Xray.  Definitely an awesome vino, but a little on the lighter side of bold.

You typically like more deep bodied bold wines.

Definitely a nice red...

2015 Colome Malbec, Argentina

give it some air, excellent Malbec. Wine speculator had it at 92 pts. $19 at Costco. Full body, close to 20 second finish.

Toad Hollow Cabernet.

This is an underrated red.  Dry and very, very smooth - love it.

3.5

Thought this looked interesting, and I enjoy bold wines, so I purchased a bottle.

That said, stay away from this one, it is horrible - rivals 14 hands - just nasty.

Exceedingly few red wines get poured down the drain at my house, but this was an easy choice - down the drain it went Stay away!

The Stag North Coast Cab.

First time I’ve tried this vino.

A very nice cab.  On the dryer side with some plum and a bit of spice at the end.  Liked it quite a bit.

3.5 stars

Should also mention that my wife didn’t care for it.  She thought it was too bold and it tasted like alcohol lol

Not a beginner wine :)

Xray May like it!
