Fleet Farm next on chopping block
Here is the article from earlier this summer. They at looking to double the number of locations over the next 6 years.
Some things never change especiall FFs notorious habit of runningout stock before replenishing. Normally I shop at Menards since they seem to have plenty of everything we need
Yesterday I was rushed for time as I travelled to Two Rivers helping a friend to some wall repairs and I decided to save some time by stopping at fleet to pick up some construction adhesive. Big mistake. They had one tube left and I needed 3 tubes. So I get up to the cashier to pay for some shot shells I needed, conscientious young man too. Asked if I found everything then sincerely offered to call the back warehouse to see if any adhesive was lying in storage. Predictably sad and funny the phone didnt work for him. Poor guy was sincerely trying to help me out. He asked me if I would wait a few minutes so he could use the phone at the next register. I politely declined as I had to move on.
FF is much like Sears was 30 years ago. The cracks in the marketing facade keep getting bigger.
