Some notes on the Bears' minicamp from football.com.

Quarterback Jim Miller looked to have no ill effects from the health problems he experienced during mini-camp. One thing that did impress us is how Miller was threading the needle in between defenders. He was on target and had a good amount of zip on the ball. We have to imagine that some of his receivers may have had sore hands after hearing the cracking sound of the ball hitting them in the hands on many occasions. Another thing that may be a bad omen for Chicago opponents is how the deep passes were hitting the receivers.......right in stride many times. And on the incompletions, there were no short rounds that would be easy pickings for defenders. In a nutshell, Miller showed no weakness in terms of arm strength. Chris Chandler also made some nice throws, but it was Miller who impressed us most.

Another thing that stood out were the dropped passes.......or maybe we should say the lack thereof. The Chicago receivers took some heat last season for their inconsistent play, specifically drops and bad routes. Outside of some rustiness by Marcus Robinson early in the day, the drops were pretty much absent, and the routes looked sharper. Marty Booker still looked to be the man, and even took a bow after hauling in a bomb that prompted the fans chant his name. But Dez White and David Terrell were sharp as well. White has made major progress in his game from 2001. So much so, that Booker and White are the starting receivers at this point, according to coach Dick Jauron. David Terrell is right there on his heels, and appears to be all business as he enters his second season.

I don't have a dog in the fight but I like the idea of the Bears staying downtown and at the historic Soldier Field site.  While I'm not a fan of domes for sporting events, it is probably the wise choice for a multi-use facility.  Especially one partially funded with public moneys.  Video almost left me with a tiny warm spot in my heart for da bears......almost, but not quite.

Long live the NFC North!  Go pack Go!

Don’t really want to talk football with cubs special season going but will have to speak about the draft. Are the bears about to draft another HOF QB? I will wait and let chaw chime in. He will have  some weapons. I forgot who are the rbs? Let’s remember this is the draft with Harrison jr. I would have like to see if fields could be serviceable with Allen , Harrison and the ex panther that I forgot his name.

just seems so Bearsy to do this press conference the same week (day before) as the most exciting draft in history. I still don't understand why they don't want their own land and own building after the soldier field, Field debacle. Do like the dome though. Screw the Bear weather garbage.

Kona, for sure football is a outside sport. I as a kid remember going with my dad to watch the bears play in Wrigley Field. Do you remember that? I guess times have changed and the people now  going to a stadium are only interested in getting thier selfie-pictures on line via where ever or a obnoxious  2 second chance of a T.V. appearence. These under-age kids do not know anything about sports regardless of if it's football, baseball or whatever.

Chi personally not a big fan of the dome stadium and yes I understand all the revenue and traffic it would bring the city of Chicago but to me I remember growing up watching the Bears, Minnesota, Packers and some other teams playing in the elements and loving it.

Agree 100%.. This is the NFC North.. Bud Grant..Alan Page..Ditka, Sayers. '85 Bears. Lombardi, Taylor, Nitschke etc. etc and now 3 of the 4 teams are playing indoors!! Come on Chicago!!! And yes, I get the multi use aspect and revenue etc. but football is meant to be played outside . Is there are better place to watch a game than outside on a sunny/crisp fall day?? Thankful we still have Lambeau. Oh well $ talks.

I hope they bring you and all of us BEAR fans another SB and soon!  My only problem with all that money they get it wouldn't go to the team, it would probably go to the 14th and 15th generation of the family so they don't have to work like all the people that spend good $$$$$ going to the games and supporting the team.

Topam, not a big supporterof this proposal either. I f it happens,so be it! with all the money being tossed around ,why can't we use this money to put a winning team on the field? I'll repeat myself and tired of doing it. SELL THE TEAM TO HUNRY INVESTORS and maybe before I die I'LL WITNESS ANOTHER SUPER BOWL WINNING TEAM!!! Well if they sign this so-called great QB after trading Fields, what else is it gonna take except excusesto get back to glory?? I wonder??

Well question for all my flellow bears fans(not many on this web site) What do you think of the new stadium  to be built on the exixting site here in Chicago? The powers at be obtain property in Arlington Hts and then turn around and decide to build a new domed stadiium with all the "bells and whistles"  that could be imagined. Wow what a change in plans huh? I guess i'll never know what this team and franchise is all about! LOL!!
