100lb propane tank to a 20lb

If I am switch from 100lb tank to a twenty will this require changing the valve on the copper tubing or should it be the same valve for a twenty lb tank. I wish I would of looked at the valve before leaving the cabin last week. Thanks for the help.

The 20 pounders have both threads with an OPD, the 100 pounders have internal LH threads only...

Maybe they do not do it anymore but the new tank valves have the new style threads on the outside for quick connecting and the old threads on the inside for the old style hookup.

I have 2 100#ers on my place up north and I can put 20's on as is no problem. Also put a 100 on the camper for longer stays in colder weather(Deer season camping) hope this helps.

Not exactly sure what you are looking for Drp...

A 20 pound tank (like you would use on a gas grill) typically has RH threads on the outside of the tank whereas 100 pound tank has internal left handed threads, and does not have an OPD valve like the 20 pounders do...
