I just pull all the line out with nothing on the end. Then, I reel up the line while pinching it with the off hand. Works just fine. Mrt.

You still have phonebooks Tounge Out?

Pulling your line through a phone book or 2 works well.

I use to do the swivel to a post thing. It worked pretty darn good. I heard of the phone book thing too. The best thing is to buy line that has little or minimal memory Fireline braid works great. Berkley has a low memory line. I use to se McCoy line around but haven't lately. When putting in on the reel lay the spool flat with the line coming off the reel the same direction you are putting it on. Make sure to close the bail by hand!

Let your line out from a bridge over a river or stream.
