Evinrude Intruder Problems

Took the boat out over the weekend and again tonight. Boat started up a little harder than normal but not bad so I cruised over to my spot to fish. Fished for an hour or so and went to go start the outboard but it wouldn't start. It turned over and fired a few times but couldn't get it running. I primed the bulb and tried again and it fired but again didn't stay running. The same thing happened again tonight. Finally got it running but don't want to go on a trip and get stranded if it keeps happening. The motor is a 1993 Evinrude Intruder 150. Never had problems with it before this weekend and all of a sudden I am. I pulled the fuel filter and cleaned it out and put a new primer bulb in so far. Should I pull the carbs off and clean them out or does it sound more like an electrical problem? Thanks for any help.

It has carbs. I'm going to pull them off tonight and give them a thorough cleaning. Hopefully that will help.

I may be wrong, but the Intruder was the first OMC outboard to use the Ficht fuel injection system. If so, no carbs to pull and clean. The injector nozzles however, may need cleaned or replaced.
