Tried pulling up an old discussion and I couldn't for some reason.  What makes the Terrova worth $300 more than the Power Drive V2 other than 10 extra pounds of thrust?  Quality? Ease of use?

Looking to upgrade this winter and would like to hear from anyone that knows.

Thank you.

Michael

I-pilot for sure. Spot lock alone is worth the money. You can leave 1 anchor in the garage.

I own both motors. I use the terrova and with all the features nothing compares to it. It is like comparing a paint sprayer to a paint brush. lol If you use your trolling motor in a lot of different applications you will love the terrova.

All of the above. Quality, ease of use, use of foot pedal and remote simultaneously. As someone who's been using both for some time. I say Terrova all the way. That 10# of thrust is huge also.

I suck at using a foot pedal..so the powerdrive v2 is good for me

I went from a cable drive motorguide to a powerdrive V2 with I pilot. I don't miss the foot pedal at all. As long as you get IPILOT you will be happy with either one.

just completed updating my Terrova to the new-improved iPilot (P/N 1866300). A quick operation, can't wait till I get to try it. Looking forward to playing with the spot-lock!

go with the terrova. If you add iPilot to a V2 you cant use the foot control. I had a V2 and went through 2 foot pedals last year

I vote for the Terrova. I did have a foot pedal and ipilot remote fail during warranty.

Terrova w/iPilot.It's a more robust model vs powerdrive.Plus you get to use the much better foot pedal with iPilot.V2 pedal sux,IMHO.

That extra thrust is nicr to...

I'vge tied up to a pontoon boat loaded with a dozen people on a really windy day and hit spotlock. It held us out in the middle of the lake when the pontoon's anchor couldn't.

I've held when other - double anchored - fishing boats couldn't,

Get the Terrova. Spot lock, 10 pounds of thrust, ease of depoyment and track memory are all worth it. Mrt.

the stow/deploy on the Terrova is worth the price of admission imo... no comparisson, I had 2003 PD before and the difference still amazes/pleases me.

as mentioned, the foot pedal is much nicer and easier to use

weedless wedge prop is std on Terrova, std on certain models of V2

... i-Pilot is an option I wouldn't go without

If I was to do it again, I'd get Terrova w/i-Pilot again

...no regrets

The Terrova's foot pedal is much better. If you use your's as much as I do - slipping current in rivers walleye fishing - you'll go thru almost a pedal per year. I bought at least 4,maybe 5 pedals over the years. I have two seasons on the Terrova and have the same pedal.

However, I don't use the pedal as much with ipilot. The spot lock feature means I can stop and fish an eddy without having to use the pedal.

I will say that I haven't had clear sailing with the Terrova. Everything but the actual trolling motor and foot pedal  has been replaced under the 2 year warrantee. US2 transducer went this fall, the GPS went out in the head ,had  to replace the whole ipilot when that happens...Well,I lost the remote myself,so that wasn't warranteed replacement.

The more bells and whistles you have, the more there is to break....but i wouldn't want to go without the ipilot.
