Looking to get a 80 lb Terrova. choice of shaft is 45 or 60. I currently have a 54 inch on a power drive, it seems to be plenty long, but I think 45 is to short. Also are there other lengths available? Will be using a on Alumacraft 165 navigator cs

There's just a couple or three wires going from the "head" to the actual motor. I have shortened a couple TMs over the years by removing the lower part and shaft, and carefully cutting the top of the shaft.

I have never been able to successfully lengthen a shaft despite what all those ads claim. Big Smile

Get it long. You can always shorten it if it's really a pain.

fl68,

45" way too short. Go with the 60".

I went from 54" to 60" when I put a Terrova I pilot on the bow of my 165 Alumacraft Dominator, and love it!
