Looking at possibly purchasing a 1999 70 HP Evinrude 4-stroke but can't find much about them online? I'm assuming these are carbureted not EFI. I've also read that these are Suzuki 4-strokes branded with Evinrude decals?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I have a 2000 4-stoke Evinrude (Suzuki) DF 70 hp. It has been bullet proof over the last 13 years. Get parts (plugs, oil filters, water pump) from Browns Point Marine online. Local Johnson dealers also have parts.

It is fuel injected.

Made by Suzuki and branded Evinrude. I have a 1999 40hp and it is a great motor. Mine is black.

The 1999 Evinrude your speaking of is a Multi-Port Fuel Ijection that Suzuki made for Evinrude & Johnson for a few years. They also made a 90 & 115 HP with either Johnson or Evinrude decals. Excellent motors, I have a 2000 that I posted on in a different forum.

Good Luck-EXCELLENT motor! Smile

Suzuki was making 4 strokes and branding them as Johnsons and painting them white. Never soon an evinrude 4 stroke, but they are both OMC products. Never heard of issues, and yes I believe they are carbureted.
