We are planning a Elk hunting trip to CO next year and are trying to decide between flying or driving. The part of the cost equation we can't figure out is how much it would cost to ship our meat (hopefully) back home. We'd be shipping from CO to WI. Does anyone have any experience in this matter? Do you remember approximately how much it cost? This figure might make or break our idea of flying. Thanks. JD

I would just call a meat processor out there- I have had Elk butchered in Colorado- it runs around 250-300 shipping was quoted to me once-if I remember right it was 100.00 but don't quote me. I know my bear hunters in Wisconsin do it all the time for around 50.00 from Hayward to southern Wisconsin.-Over (night) When I drive out there-I just stay an extra day and wait for my meat to take home-frozen
