What is your guys opinions on the MR heaters to keep an elevated blind warm?? The Big Buddy is too big for my blind so what about the 2 smaller sizes??

Went with the MR Heater more then did the job very nice!! Igniter worked every time for now.  It did make some noise when turning down to pilot when i didn't need heat, but over all very pleased with it. First time in a blind with heat and it was a cold gun season VERY nice!

If you get the camo buddy, the igniter is silent. Great for deer hunting as it has an electronic igniter.

And bring a lighter or matches so you don't have to wake the whole woods pressing the loud igniter.

Whatever heater you use make sure it has the O2 sensor in it! Many people die every year ice fishing and obviously the same could happen in a box blind.

Big Buddy has three settings.... L (4k) M (9k) and H (18K) BTU's

Portable Buddy has two settings... L (4k) and H (9k) BTU's

Even the smaller Little Buddy burns at 3.8k BTU's

Low on both units is the same, no need to get a different heater for the same result.

We have both in elevated box's (Shadow Hunter's) and someday's anything is too warm and they just get turned back to pilot and back on low again when needed. We have them all hooked to 20# tanks and they make it through the season with propane to spare with all day sits.

For blinds a Lil' Buddy is plenty of heat on low for a full day sit.  I'd recommend a tank and hose if you are going to be hunting multiple days, they burn through a 1# can in about 3-5 hours depending on the heater setting.

Depends on the size of your blind. I have a buddy heater (the single panel) and it works great. Low setting is about as much as I need, and only periodically throughout the day as needed.

That's all we use during the gun deer season in WI. Even the Mr Heaters can be overkill though, the portable buddy heaters would probably suffice, never used them though.
