So now that CWD has been found in the U.P., the stage has been set for the DNR to destroy that deer hunting too. They're already giving out 5 deer tags to any landowner within 15 miles, and prepared to ban baiting and feeding.
Now, I prefer to hunt with no bait, we have foodplots, but the holding potential for the land only allows for so much unless minerals and supplemental feeding are allowed. I can tell you the local deer pop. has increased by 50-70% since we started year round supplemental feeding and the hunting is amazing.
I think it's horrible that the DNR manages with insurance companies in mind rather than sportsmen.
