Here’s my entry. Story is on the 2017 gun report thread if interested, but be warned, it’s wordy.
I got him Wednesday morning of season, easily the most intense non-archery hunt I’ve had. Blessed with a great experience, and a nice buck as a bonus.
8 points + 18” inside = 26
no points for mass, but he’s got it.

Thanks Bugle :) I took so many pics it' ridiculous. Had to for that great moment in life. It felt good. I sat in my stand for 45 min before i could get down because I was so excited and nervous.. I'll never forget it. NOW BRING ON THE ICE. I NEED ME A 12INCH BLUEGILL NOW. STILL WAITING FOR THAT TOO 11.75 IS BIGGEST. ALWAYS DREAM BIG

It didn't occur to me until a couple of days ago but I never took a picture WITH my buck. Only OF my buck. My wife comforted me and said that we'll stage a photo on the tailgate of my truck with me in blaze orange when we get the head back from the taxidermist. God Bless Her!
Since 2 weeks before gun season I had seen alot of deer activity in a spot I've been wanting to put a stand near for the past 10yrs. A small T like clearing of blackberry bushes that connected 3 super thick thickets with a small ridge to the south. A 50 yard opening in between Thickets. So Friday night b4 gun season came I moved my ladder stand to a good tree over there. Saw a few deer thru the days. Nothing worth shooting. Let them grow. Every morning fresh rubs and scrapes were all around my stand as I walked to it. Like Him mocking me. Well Nov 21st he got out of bed a little too early at 420 and i had the chance at a buck of my life. Slowly raised the .270 and boom. Landed a perfect shot, he went about 30 40 yards and that was it. No heart left tho. Luck finally came to me after 20 years of hunting. :) beautiful 8 point 17 inch spread Portage County BUCK. He came right were I expected him to come. Proud of my stand move lol
Very nice buck shed! Also like the way you made use of your bipod there. I’ve been in that position before, one of the nicest bucks I’ve ever gotten, too. Lol.
I scored an entry on Wednesday that I will post the story about later when I get time. He won’t win this big money contest, but he’s a winner for me.
