Just curious...what size card do you use in your trail cams and how many pics on average can you get out of it before it's full.

I do the 3 pic bursts and as fast as they will take them again (what the camera will do) this time of the year as most bucks are in groups. YOu might get the first buck but if there is 3-4 in a group you will most likely miss the next 1 or 2 and get the last one.

When I do this and it is windy out I need all the storage I can get plus I only check them every 2-3 weeks.

Right now I have a mix of 2, 4, and 8. I'm buying dedicated cards for my trail cams after having issues last year with using them in different devices. I figured 2 gb would be dirt cheap considering how much capacity you can get on cards these days but that is not the case. 4 gb is what I will be getting.

I usually use 4's. Based on cost of memory, 4's give me the best bang for the buck. Big enough I won't ever run out, and not even close to twice as expensive as 2's.

4's and 8's. We have a lot of cameras and needed to write on them the max gb so we put the correct cards in. My cudde's only work with a 1gb card so we keep those separate. Some of the newer cameras take a 32gb card but unless your taking 3 shot bursts every 30 seconds over a busy mineral site and leaving it for 6 months you won't need that. Long video clips would be the only reason I would go with that large of a card.

I have mainly 4gb's and a couple 2gb's and have never ran out of space with any of them including earlier this summer when I had 6000+ pics of grass blowing on one of my cams.

My newer camera is fine but I have an older Cuddyback that had a 2GB limit. I was getting irritated with it and then found the limit in the manual. Was not expecting that.

8 & 16's.

On the 8's I get about 4000-6000 pics before it fills up, that is set at 8MP. I have never filled up a 16 yet.
