It looks like the infamous air bow is making its way to the stage.
Does anyone know anything about this?
If this is true, it better be utilized by those with physical disabilities/limitations. There better be use restrictions for everyone else.
I see no need to legalize air bows, air rifles, or anything else. Why do people need to kill a deer with a different weapon when so many options are already available: rifle, compound, recurve, longbow, crossbow, muzzleloader, etc.
However, and frankly, I don't care what weapon someone wants to use as long as they limit the number of deer (bucks and antlerless) licenses available and adjust seasons accordingly. Whether you want to use an atlatl or bazooka, we just can't keep killing the number of antlerless deer we do or increasing the buck kill and expect things to improve or even remain the same. This is getting ridiculous.
I am sure that it's use during the firearm season is a stepping stone until they'll find a way to sneak it into the archery season. Just like the crossbow, another big fat ploy to get the younger crowd into the hunting scene. The Wisconsin Lawmakers do not care if they provide another legal means of deer killing. The DNR needs to step up and completely prevent this from ever reaching an archery discussion.
I can already see the poachers grinning ear from ear.
