Please amuse me, how exactly is he backpedaling? The anti Walker folks will stop at nothing and have no reservations against making false statements to try to scare people to vote Walker out of office. Has Dr. Kroll worked with high fence operations? Yes. He has also performed a wealth of other work, research, and education during his decades of experience with whitetail deer. However, no one seems to mention that. If I believed those without morals, I would think that Dr. Kroll drove up here from Texas with a pickup truck full of 8' fencing and 10' posts. Also, the two other people who are working with Dr. Kroll are not known for any work with high fence operations to my knowledge. Did you read Dr. Krolls initial report? Please cite the pages where he wants to turn Wisconsin into a private high fence operation. When his final report comes out next month, could you please cite the pages that state his desire to turn Wisconsin into a private high fence operation. It is really disgusting that some people use their hatred of Walker to try to lie about deer hunting in Wisconsin. I don't know about the rest of you, but I feel we were constantly getting hosed under the previous administration. It really bothered me because I expected higher taxes and legislation I didn't like, but when my recreation was getting messed with as well, that bothered me. EAB year after year in my unit. EAB prevalent statewide and EAB watch lists and the threat of EAB just about everywhere. The DNR pushing aggressive antlerless harvests until units are well below goal. Constantly changing season structures. An almost yearly push to extend the regular gun season. An almost yearly push to move up the opening day of the regular gun season. Constant proposals to add more and more gun season days. Proposals to lengthen the bow season to the end of January. Hunters frustrated with rapidly shrinking deer numbers. Hunters frustrated with unreliable deer counts, but subject to aggressive regulations. Hunters that get a hearing in Madison in which the head of the DNR claims that "we listen to the hunters" as part of his speech and then he leaves immediately after speaking and does not listen to or engage any hunters or hunting organizations. An NRB that is not receptive towards hunters. And the list could go on. As a deer hunter, I have really been encouraged by the direction of the DNR and hunting related legislation this past year. EAB has been legislatively banned outside of the CWD zone. Early gun seasons except the youth hunt have been legislatively banned outside of the CWD zone. These two items alone should be wildly popular among deer hunters as many polls in the mid to late 2000's indicated about 90% in favor of these actions. Hunters are being put on the NRB. Our new head of the DNR, while not a hard core hunter by any means, actually purchased a license and went deer hunting last year. Concealed carry was enacted. Casing laws were relaxed. We are soliciting opinions from outside sources on our deer management program. This administration was quick to move to set a wolf season. Please, tell me with facts, how deer hunting has gotten worse in the past year? Remember the grass roots firestorm of angry hunters a few years ago? It doesn't exist anymore and for good reason.

lakeshiner, they have to because all their other arguments have been shown to be false or no one cares about them. The only thing they have left is trying to spread rumors and 1/2 truths trying to get someone to vote their way. Just reposting Ditto's comment for Treeshark's below Wink
