Wondering what everyone is finding out there. In Central WI, rut activity definately picked up about 2 weeks ago. First major scraps and rubs. Bucks now following does.

Haven't been out a ton, but the bucks I have seen have been cruisin early late and midday looking for does, no chasing going on that I can see yet. Southern U.P.

It's on here in Rock County. This nice 8 pt came thru my side yard not 30 seconds after a big doe went thru. He stopped outside my dining room window and sniffed around with his mouth open and tongue hangin' out. 8:15 am, Monday the 18th, just north of Afton. The close-up is just a zoomed in shot using my cell phone from inside the house.

Personally I would take off Nov 4th-8th. I have always had better luck early rut with deer responding to grunt/bleats.

Trying to plan out my vacation to catch the rut, should i take off this next week Nov 4th-8th or the following week Nov 11th-15th?

I hunt around the Pardeeville area. I had a spike buck run by several times with his nose to the ground and appeared to be looking for a doe. I never did see the doe come by. Scrapes started appearing about a week and half ago. They are being hit on a regular basis. Still seeing does out feeding with out a buck in site. I am thinking it will be pretty soon before it breaks loose.

You all are not going to belive this! At work this morning August 13th @ 9am during our weekly staff meeting look out the window and see two bucks 6pt and a big 8pt chasing a doe around the hill side 3 loops before the doe shoots out across the road both bucks giving chase. Way too early for this. Wingdam

I'm all jacked for Michigans muzzleloader season, Saturday found 5 new scrapes on my 40 and 8 more on dad's big piece. Can't hunt the opener of it but get to hunt the last 7 days. Pray for snow and cold.

Opening day had a doe draw three nice bucks into my stand, so it appeared that there was at least some chasing going on in my neck of the woods. Wish I wouldn't have blown my chance! This was in northern Door Co.

I am in the same boat as you Bustin. I have land in Shawano Cty and am just starting to see good rubs. No scrapes yet which is very surprising. Usally have scrapes all along my tree line. Think it will only get better from here on out for me.
