I spread them out on my wife's cookie trays and put them in the oven at 250 degrees for about 3 hours. I then take them out and let them cool before i put them into zip lock bags. (the 1 gallon size is a little too big but the pint size works fine). I then stack them horizontally in brown grocery bags (usually 50 pouches to a bag). Then I remove all of my living room furniture out onto the patio and begin stacking the brown grocery bags, starting in the farthest corner of the room. I can fit just under 4 thousand grocery bags in that room. If I have more they go into our bedroom and we sllep on an air mattress. I usually have this completed by the next hunting season. Yes, it is time consuming, but I really don't have anything else to do. Please let me know if you have any questions. OK, I'M BORED SITTING AT MY DESK AT WORK! Thanks for playin' TF

Sounds like a lot of work. How about finding an area that has oak trees and hunting that area. I shot my first buck that way.

Put them out on a tarp in the sun it will take some time can go a week or more depends on how much sun you get, is the best way to dry them. Then the best way to hold them is to make a wood framed bin with screen but hard 1/4' hard ware screen works best. great late season bait if you can enough but works good mixed with corn late in the year as well old timer trick in my country.

when they put up acorns for planting the following year, I know they freeze them. Mold cannot grow in the freezer.

I had a bunch last year. I kept them spread out. Only problem was my garage floor was covered by some type of worm that came out of the acorns. Looked like a small maggot. Their caps dont help either.

Try spreading them out on newspaper so they dry out. Its the moisture thats causing the mold.
