if you want to drop it on the spot, you need to use at least as big as what you would for deer.

Unless ya want to buy a new gun. In winter you can track them if wounded. I'd go with my favorite Savage 12fv in .223 rem. I can put one in his boiler room @ 200 yds easy. Anyway how many wolf permits are going out anyway and when is open season.

Either a 270 or 7mm-08- same as I use for deer hunting. No need to buy a different gun.
