Do you guys use a swivel when casting deep diving crank baits or tie direct?? Thanks.

I have to agree, cross snap whether casting or trolling is the way to go.

Tie direct if it has a split ring on the eye. If not, I tie a rapala knot directly to the bait. You will get better action tying direct as long as you use the correct knots instead of using a snap. It may take an extra 30 seconds to tie but really, what is 30 seconds?

I use the smallest cross lock snap I can stil open and close with out too much trouble. I do it more for ease of switching baits than anything. www.fishwithjustin.com

Do you guys use them for ease of changing lures or because the action of your lure is more natural??

I use a small Berkley snap...no swivel.
