Zone 1 periods 1,3,4 so far. Got 2 last year , real nice toms and got my buddy on a bird as well. Hopin my old man will hunt the later periods with me this and get one. He's had a dry streak for the last couple seasons. Going for the trifecta this year!! Only got three birds one other year. Big Smile

So it's all laid out for me. Calling for a buddy first season, hunting second at my place in Michigan, Third in zone 2, fourth calling for my uncle in zone 5, fifth hunting zone 5 in Marinette county, and finally hunting zone 5 in Langlade county for the sixth. Lots of calling and shooting to be done, best of luck to all, I'll get some pics on here soon! Four tags for me this year, only yet to take someone on a youth hunt and that will be my 12 year old neice next year. Have to get to work now and doll up my B-mobile for the ladies.

Forgot to apply for a permit but still managed to get one for period C in zone 3. I imagine the ticks will be pretty bad this year, even in the early weeks. At least the woods will be GREEN! I'm just hoping I don't have to hunt in 70 and 80 degree temps.

I just got a 5th period zone 7 tag. I now have 1st and 5th zone 7 tags and a 3rd period zone 3 tag. Not sure how much time I'll have to go but I figured if I spread it out, at least I have options. Debating about buying a 4th period zone 3 tomorrow, but might pass. I probably wasted enough money anyway. Last year I bought a period 6 tag and never went, so I'm for sure passing on that this year.

Well the season structure is set up so that most of the hens are bred before the season starts to ensure reproduction. So that is a normal thing anyways, but I think more than usual this year.

got a first season tag. This year it will be the equivalent of the 4th week at least. Birds in central wis have broken up and the last few days have seen a tom and a hen alone in several places. If the warmth continues, even by first week many of the hens will be done breeding and the toms will be looking for the few remaining. Last couple weeks may be terrible this year? Youth hunt could be prime time this year.

I also picked up a Zone 3 Season 3 tag today to go along with my Zone 5 Season 2.

I bought zone 3 week 3 to go along with my zone 7 week 1. There are so many tags available for zone 3, I must be hunting the wrong area of it because the bird numbers are down from years past but the tag numbers go up every year. There are like 30,000 over the counter tags this year. It only pays to apply for period 1 and 2 anymore, don't waste preference points on anything else, even if it costs a few extra bucks to buy over the counter.

Treeshark, how could you not draw a tag with all the turkeys out there. Mild winter, lots of birds, low harvest rate, the DNR at it's best I guess. I'm just a little pi$$ed cause I didn't draw a tag either...
