It's that time to start plannning for this year's Learn to Hunt Program! It will be held the weekend of the statewide youth hunt. If you are not taking out a youth and want to mentor a first time hunter, call me for more info, 414-750-5181...........thanks, Scott..........
I hope someone can help out. Unfortunately my families land is too far away to help out on this hunt. Luckily we already have three first time hunters coming out. One of whom I will have the great privilege of calling for. I have been helping out with a similar program here in New Mexico for the last three years. It is an amazing thing to see a youngster get their first bird and start grinning from ear to ear. I encourage anyone in the area to help out if you are seeing this post. Even if you can't take a young hunter out, letting a young hunter get out on your land can keep a future hunter from becoming a former hunter.
I'm sure there are alot of knowledgeable, safe guys that want to get kids in the outdoors and share a little about turkey hunting as well, but if there is only a small area from the club that you're limited to, you are probably limiting the potential of the event as well. I'm taking a young guy out this year in Michigan so it's happening, just not all in the area you're involved in.
