Caught a nice Brown on lake Monona at the mouth of Starkweather creek 20 years ago. Also caught a small Brown on The wisconsin river by Portage 15 years ago.

Story creek caught a small northern, Bluegill and a small Walleye over the last few years, all during high water.

Was fishing w/ a buddie at Waukegan powerplant discharge on Lake Michigan... Getting skunked in near blizzard conditions, these guys using cut bait are catching browns 3-5 lbs. and filling stringers... They take pity on us and give us some cut bait... Still nothing and they keep reeling them in w/o missing a beat... They take pity on us again and give us hooks/special sinkers and still nothing... We're within feet of them on either side and they just keep on pulling them in... The back of my hair is a solid ball of ice and it's freezing my neck off... I can't get it out and do get a bad cold from it... Anyway, in frustration I give up an walk upsteam through a hole in the fence and rig up using some garden worms I brought in a ziploc that I kept from freezing in my inner pocket... No skunk, end up catching a 10 inch rainbow, no skunk nontheless... Lucky me... Speechless

i've caught alot of different fish out of the creeks in columbia co. small mouth, a couple small northern pike. blue gills. bull heads. i've fished this creek for 20 years though. but the craziest fish i ever caught was wheni was about 12 years old. i caught a 47in cat fish out of the dam in rowan creek. looking back i think some one let it go down there. i ended up trading it to an old bait shop that used to be in poynette for some tackle. He was gonna mount it and put it up on the wall. i was to young to remember what kind of cat it was though. i'm pretty sure it wasnt a flat head though. cause it wasnt as fat as one would be that large. all i know is that it was huge and not alot of people belive me.

Last year I was fishing a hex spinner fall at 3am. I hooked into a giant...fought it for 10 minutes before I got it close enough to shine the light on it. Flipped the light on and saw that I had been fighting a big muskrat. He was not happy with me!

When I was a kid, I saw a very sad looking brook trout in the Wisconsin River below the spillway near Stevens Point. Besides the less-than-pristine waters of the Wisco in the 1970's, he would have had to go over two waterfalls to get to where I saw him. Poor little fella. Crying

Between 10 and 15 years ago I was fishing a marked trout stream in Iowa county. I was using worms and was catching nothing but small suckers and chubs in a deep cut below a culvert. I was starting to get bored and decided to toss my line back in with a chub still hooked on it. Bam, I caught a nice largemouth bass. It wasn't huge length wise but it was FAT FAT FAT! I explored that stream more and caught many other species including walleye and sauger, but never caught a trout.
