I am trying to refine my technique a bit for more success on the big pond.

I usually fish a slip bobber and a red hook with a piece of shrimp or crab on it. I have also used minnows as well to catch the perch. What size minnows should I use to catch perch? I am trying to increase my success. Please give me tips.

Does anyone fish for the Perch by Bender and have good sucess?

Thanks

I always did best on soft shell crabs. Hard shell crab tail meat will work, but not nearly like a soft shell. Not sure how hard they are to find now though with all the vhs rules. I know you can still bring out live ones on the big lake if you can find them. The frozen ones are terrible though, they pretty much freeze rotten crabs. Only buy live ones, or if they are froze you need to know they were frozen while still alive, then they aren't too bad yet. I'd rip them in half, pull the shell off the leg section and use that on one line, with the tail on the other. The legs always did the best for me. I never fished down by Milwaukee though but I would assume it's the same there. I always did better on them, minnows and hard shells didn't compare (for me at least).
