Has anyone ever been to this musky shop or ordered from them online? I'm just a little curious as I'm having a little trouble with an online order.

Also, Thad, we couldn't find your order because you cancelled and didn't tell us that we shouldn't look for YOUR order, and that we should be looking for an order placed by a family member. This caused confusion because we were like "Why is he crying about his order not coming when he cancelled?" This is a small detail that you could have told us in a private message rather than broadcasting it to everyone. On the family member order, we did inform awhile back that both Grandma and Sledge were not shipping orders, or even responding to our repeated inquiries. Needless to say, we won't be ordering from them anymore. Anyways, sorry about the confusion on our end and enjoy the free baits.

Hey Thad, Chris here from muskytales . I did not receive your emails and I rarely log on here but I can tell you that it did take sledge until this week to send your baits to us. We have called them repeatedly with no avail till now. Because of the time it took, we are going to send you your baits for free. I have stayed up on all our orders as well as made good on all the orders that fell behind in our move. I intend to make everybody happy with muskytales and deliver the best I can. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Also, I left you a message on Facebook with my personal cell number. Anything you need or any problems that ever arise you can feel free to call me. Though I do not foresee us having any issues sometimes things happen and I want to make good with all our clients. Sincerely Chris and muskytales prostaff

I would like to comment on this thread and start out by saying that I have recently became part of the prostaff here at MUSKYTALES. We would like to apologize to the folks out there who did not recieve the items that they had ordered in a quick fashion. In no way am I trying to make an excuse for it but would like to explain some of the surrounding circumstances. Between going through the growing pains of trying to expand the business by opening a retail location rather than just a warehouse, adding staff, increasing hours, and a soon to be new website we have fallen behind on orders and service. We also had a situation where our emails got hacked into and had no access to them for a few months. Again, this is not an excuse but trying to let you guys know the circumstances surrounding the situation. Now that we are fully staffed and have things back on track we are dedicated to making sure that every order is fulfilled and that every customer is very satisfied. We have a very knowledgeable staff and have access to all of your musky needs along with very competitive prices. We are currently working with a lot of the local clubs and trying our best to improve the great sport of musky fishing. We are just a few guys that are musky nuts like you guys and trying to do our best. For any questions or concerns call Kurt at 847-652-0647 Thanks

Hi everyone – I see from your bylaws that this forum should remain as upbeat as possible but when I saw this thread I joined your site to tell about my experience with Muskytales so that it may save others unnecessary grief.

I placed a small online order with them on 11/24/11 and have never heard from them at all. My bank heard from them when they charged my account but calls and emails from me have had no response from them.

I finally filed a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) in Chicago and they just sent me an email saying they are in contact with the company and have asked them to reply within 10 days. I’ll keep you posted on the results.

By the way, the word “customer” as in “customer service” does not appear on their home page nor on their site map and in my formal complaint I said that they are an insult to the Brotherhood of Muskie Fishermen everywhere and that charging for products that they never send out may be their SOP.

I’m a Muskie fisherman down in SW Virginia on the beautiful New River and the weather has been unusually nice so there is much activity here. If any of you folks ever make it down this way I’ll be happy to show you around. Image is my fishing buddy Chris with a nice one on January 22.

Do not purchase anything from Musky Tales.

I placed my order online and two weeks later, my credit card was finally charged.  I figured the items I ordered weren't in stock and once the charge was on my card, the order wold be shipped promptly.

It was over 30 days later and I still hadn't received my order.  I sent email's on three separate occassions to every address I could find on the internet and left four messages at their various numbers and never received any response.

Yes I was disappointed that I never received my lures however, charging someone's credit card and not sending a product in return is stealing.  I disputed my charges but in the end, am still shocked that nobody had the decency to respond to my emails or phone messages.

Update

I've heard from the owner and finally received half of my order. He was out of town which explains why I did not receive a response. I should receive the second half any day. I hope it arrives before I go on vacation Cool.

I myself and others I know have ordered from Musky Tales. It did take a few days to get a response from them, but the products were shipped out fairly quickly. Send them an email or give them a call. I know my purchase items were not in stock and it took them awhile to get back to me to see if I wanted to order something else or cancel the item. They are slightly cheaper than Rollie & Helen's and do have some lures that are not handled Rollie's. Their selection is not as large though.

I had never heard of them before this morning. I see they have a retail store in Fox River Grove, just a short drive from me. I might have to check it out later. Good luck with your order. Have you contacted customer service about your issues yet? Keep everyone posted so we know what kind of service can be expected. There website looks good, prices and selection. None of that matters if the service sucks.
