Smaller Walleye/Musky Boat

Get an older Ranger 681c or T, you won't be dissapointed....and get an electric steer bow mount for the front, 24 volt 80lb thrust, 54 or 60 inch shaft... you will be able to use it for casting for muskies and if need be trolling spinners or cranks for walleyes... The boat is 17ft long 81" wide a true classic.

I had the same dilemma a few yeears ago and asked myself a lot of questions to determine what I needed. 1. can my vehicle pull it? My 4WD was/is on its death bed so I didn't want to exceed 1000 lbs. 2. will I be able to fish big water? I like to fish the big lake (inshore) and some of the bigger lakes and flowages, so flat bottom or tri hull is out. 3. can I get it on some of my lake X's that have crappy landings? alone? 18 to 19 foot boats with bunk trailers aren't much fun when you need to back up 100 yards and land the boat in a foot of water. Less fun alone. 4. can I park on the shore when I'm island camping? Not with glass.

So I went with a 16' Ultracraft. Very similar to a Alumacraft Lunker or Lund. It's perfect for most of what I do.
