Re-lubing auger

My 10-yr old Mako is starting to squeal/squeak a bit. Has anyone re-greased your own auger? Difficulty level?

I did mine this fall and it was pretty easy on my StrikeMaster. Took the gear case apart and cleaned out all the old waxy grease and replaced it with high pressure low temp synthetic grease. It runs a lot better when it is cold out before it would lock up and I was spinning the clutch pack without moving the auger blades at all. Took about an hour with all the cleaning out of the old grease.
