Watchin-Been using my 28 now most of the season. I have used it in weeds and really like it. With the Pro-Vu ducer the narrow angle cone really works well in the thicker weeds. It allows you to not see so much clutter as if you had a 19 degree ducer. Another trick is to adjust your color palate and put it to the two color only setting. This will turn off the green color spectrum. Green is the weakest single strength. Having turned it off will allow you to clean up your screen and due away with more weak signals from weeds. You will never clean up all the weed signals fishing in dense weeds. If your fishing a forest of weeds there is little any unit can due to clean up the screen. The 28 allows you to tune down the weeds to help see more fish. Good luck with your decision. Message me with any questions you may have if you choose. Take care and tight lines.

Has anyone used one of these and tried it out in the weeds? I really want to hear from people who have used one. I took a look at one in the store the display was very cool. Brushless system, sharp/crisp display, digital depth readout, ability to display in multiple color schemes. Awesome looking unit. But what I am most interested in is the weed mode that is supposed to allow you to fish in weeds and see fish and bait without all the weed readings. If it works I would have to get one of these, if not I can stick with my fl 20.

From what I can tell comparing my FL22HD to it. The only real difference I can see is that the FLEX 28 has a digital read out instead of doing quick math to figure out the depth of water. Otherwise they are identical.

Not positive if X28 is going to be the model, but I've seen the new one for this coming season and it looks pretty darn spectacular.
