I tested my vexilar in the basement yesterday before I packed everything up for this morning and it worked just fine like normal. This morning, I put it in the sled and took off on the 2 mile trek across the lake with it behind the dirt bike, and when I got to the spot the unit was off but the whole screen was lit up. Just dissconnected the battery for the time being, but when i got home, I checked it again, and whenever I turned it on the whole screen just lights up red. Has anyone had any similar problems or any ideas of what to do?? Thanks!!

We'll i disdonnected everything an took it all apart and let it sit the night, and turned it on the next morning and it worked fine.... Not really sure the cause or why, but I'm just happy I got it to work though. I did still email the company.

Disconnect the transducer and plug back in. Happened to mine also. Works just fine now. Good luck

Now my older FL8 did the exact same thing several weeks ago, whole screen was red, thought it was a goner. I just disconnected & reconnected everything, banged it around a bit, it works fine now! It's 10+ years old, still works great!

I was trying to be funny but seeing as how you don't have a sense of humor I guess if you can't figure out the problem call Vexilar - stunning advice. I'm sure he wouldn't have thought of that on his own. TS2 Dull

Only on lake link will you get idiotic answers for a serious question. Wondering It sounds like the ride out might have rattled it around and maybe knocked something out of wack inside. Seeing how it worked perfectly fine before you left that morning im guessing it has to do with that. Contact Vexilar and see what they have to say, you might have to send it in for service.

Try puting it in you low power mode which on the fl-18, 12,20, and 22 is built in, and on the fl-8 you have to use a suppression cable if you have any questions go to vexilar.com articles and look at the article that talks about suppresion cables and low power.
