tipdown light

how can i rig up a light to signal a bite on a tipdown? i think it can be done, i just have not got it together yet. i got my radio and shanty lights all figured out, i run a battery for a flasher and it will last over 10hours easy. im just wondering if anybody has the remedy i need.

Try attaching a glow stick. You can find them at the dollar store.

The clips were enough weight that when the rod tipped down if there wasnt a fish on, the rod would not return to the up position. It stayed down. Heres the pics

I have the perfect set up for my tip downs. HT omni lite, which is actually a tip up lite. I take off the alligator clip and zip tie to the tip down rod at the balance point. Which should be just above your handle on the rod. Put it the opposite way so when the rod tips the lite goes on. Works perfect. I can post some pics if needed
