after about 1300 rounds through mine i have had 2 fail to feeds the first one was my error and the second one happened in the last 100 rounds i shot im not going to complain about that a bit considering it is under $200 for a handgun i have had more problems with my other brand name handguns

Ducks, Nothing against Hi-points but what part of that video was suppose to install confidence in the high point. I stopped watching after about the 8th fail to feed, shortly after the safety broke off. thanks for sharing GF

yeah, to get the slide off to strip it down you have to pound out a pin. "Move slide to rearmost position, push safety up into small notch, exposing slide retainer pin at rear of frame. Using a 1/8" pin punch, remove pin from frame. Pull safetydown, releasing slide, allowing it to return to its normal position. Retract slide 3/8" and pull upward. Hold rear of slide up and push forward; this removes slide assembly from frame"

I've shot a High Point but never owned or stripped one. Only going from what I know of most other semi autos I know. You have to POUND a pin out??

i am just going by what the owners manual says to strip these you need to pound out a pin to get the slide off

So you're cleaning it from the muzzle? As easy as they are to field strip, I'd field strip it and brush from the chamber end anytime I cleaned it.

i have run a brush down the barrel that is it this is from the owners manual "Barrel should be brushed every 300-400 rounds. Complete disassembly and cleaning should be performed at 1500-2000 rounds." i will pull it appart and clean it after the next time i get to the range

Ducks, 1200 rds and you haven't stripped it down OR cleaned it? That's just foolish. I realize there's not much to wreck on a highpoint but that IS the best way to distroy a gun. Shooting a gun till it fails proves nothing.

sorry about the follow up posts i took a new job where i am working too much haha i have gotten to the range twice since the last update hit the 1200 round mark with a mix of winchester, remington, federal, blazer brass, blazer aluminium, tulammo steel case and wpa steel case havent had an issue since the first ftf it just keeps shooting i havent taken it appart and cleaned it yet either i will try and post next time i get to the range out of all my guns this one gets shot the most here are a couple pictures from the last trip to the range teaching my cousin how to shoot as she had never even held a gun before that day started her off on the .22 and got her to step up to the 9mm now she is hooked

after shooting a brand new glock at shooters supply i have less faith in them than my hi point i had 3 jams in the first clip and 4 in the 2nd that put a bad taste in my mouth you can keep the glocks i have put 1200 rounds through my hi point i had 1 ftf but that was because i had a round cocked in the mag it dosnt matter what i feed it it shoots everything

Glocks are reliable, and easy to take down. You could field strip it in the dark ,if need be.
