I went on a shopping spree on Fri. I bought a Ruger .357 revolver and a Bushmaster AR15 in .223 cal. That was an expensive BUT fun day. I bought the .357 to carry on me bowhunting and to keep in the nightstand at home and I am really not sure why I bought the AR15. Oh yeah, the election. Dull

Anyone else bought anything lately? Lets hear what, why, ect!!!!! Smile

.22 Charter Arms Target Pathfinder revolver. 4 inch barrel, weight 20 ounces. Had to ship back to factory because rear of cylinder was hitting frame when closing. This was covered under warrant tho I had to pay the shipping there. It came back very promptly and I was able to sight it in, after sorting out the rear sight adjustment which did not exactly match the directions in the manual..........but a pretty good shooter. At 20 ounces it is not a target gun, but I got it for general woods carry in Southern Wisconsin and possible trapline use.

Yeah Ducks,

Did you get the rifle? If so, totally worth the dough. I have two of them. The action on them is the smoothest I've ever encountered on any gun. One from the first production year, 1955. And one from 1959. Both in .308. They were my dad's and my deer rifles for years. I hunt with an AR now but they still find their way out to the stand or range from time to time.

Hope you got it.

Just completed my 2nd AR-15 build. This one may have to accompany me in the deer stand this fall.

Yankee Hill AR-15 chambered in 6.8 mm Rem SPC

20" fluted twister chrome moly barrel with floating quad rail hand guard

3-9x40 Redfield Revolution scope on a Burris AR-P.E.P.R. mount

ditto,

Because I could not find one chambered in 300 mag or 7mm mag. A special order would have brought the cost up to what I spend on the a new bolt head and magazine. To me it was not worth the time, cost and headache of a special order.

On top of that, the rifle I bought had very nice polished blue finish (not the cheap matte finish commonly used.) This was the first stevens rifle ive seen with the polished finish.

Should be a fun build.

SS13, I have to ask why you bought a 270 with the intentions of turning it into a 300 mag instead of buying a 300 mag to begin with? Even if you planned on changing the barrel you would not have had to buy a new bolt, magazine, and follower.

Just purchased a Stevens 200 in .270, which will be my platform for a custom build.

Along with the rifle I purchased a nut wrench, magnum bolt assembly, magnum magazine and follower, go/no go gauges and a timney trigger. I also ordered a McGrowen 26" 300win mag barrel which should be in mid June. Still to be ordered is the stock and scope.

I cant wait to build this rifle! It should be a real shooter.

I tracked down the 22 I've been ogling for years. Ruger 10/22 International Talo exclusive. I've also ordered a Williams WGRS rear aperture and a Lyman 17 Globe front sight. My nephew needs to learn how to shoot irons before he upgrades to a scope, and this should be a fun tool to teach him with.
