My dad has been taking me to Lake Eire the past few years and we have started to experiment with Green Bay walleye fishing. Over Christmas I found a deal on an ice fishing adventure on the Fox River/Green Bay that I could not pass. I am looking forward to spending some time on the ice with my dad and friends and was wondering if some of you guys could give me info on when would be a good time to book the trip. We are interested in icing some walleyes so I would like to know some time that have been historically productive. We don't need a trophy just some good eating fish.

The name of the service is Ice Fishing Adventures.

Any and all information is welcome. You can post or PM me.

Thanks alot guys and gals,

Wandering Eye's

Wow, check out all the Walleyes in the photo's of the "results"! That's what this post was about, not free advertising on Lake-Link.

I hope your customer (the one who actually caught the fish) had their Great Lakes Trout and Salmon stamp to keep that trout.

Kando, The same thing happened to me and my son a couple of years ago. Booked a well known guide and then he said he had other commitments that day and left us with another guide. But we actually did o.k. fish wise. Can you turn on your P.M.?

The trip is fully guided which is $100.00 per person so it is a great deal. So if you booked the 4 angler trip for $169 the origanle value Was $400 thats over 50% savings. The $125 is for just rental of the shack and no gear. They only guide up to 12 people per day so the guides will be with all day to teach you how to fish. The reason it says semi private is because there will be up to 12 anglers not just one group.Hope this clears some things up

I called and booked the trip. I also asked about the semi-private status compaired to the rate on the website. The outfitter said that the trip is full outfitter but semi-private. He said that the wording was confusing but the trip has a full time gide as listed on the groupon, however it is semi-private also listed on the groupon. The cheaper trip is semi-gided as listed on the website.

Fish or no fish, deer or no deer, I always enjoy the time I get to spend with my dad.

Last year friends of mine booked an ice fishing trip with a well known guide on Lake Winnibago. He's on week-end TV with some of the local celebrities. They fished out of Oshkosh. The cost $125.00 per person for 7 or 8 hours with a hot lunch. He had about 50 to 60 clients in his group. At about 9:00am the main guide that they thought they booked with had to leave to go to Green Bay to do a fishing seminar. So his sons took over for him. The four of guys did end up with 3 nice perch.

So good luck and enjoy. At least you will be with your dad so enjoy that time together fish or no fish. Kando

I by no means meant to down play the trip you purchased, I just want you to be aware what you purchased was not really a Walleye fishing trip and certainly not an "eater" Walleye trip. They do catch some Walleye on the Bay during winter but if/when they do it's larger size fish.

Enjoy your trip for what it is and enjoy the time spent fishing with your dad!

Ok,

Not the type of information I was looking for, but I do appreciate the heads-up on the cost of the trip. It is definitely something I will bring up when I book. I will post details and photos of the trip when it happens to let ya know how it went.

Thanks

Yup, and here is what is included in the $125 package:

"heated shack, pre-drilled holes, grill, transportation and bait."

I hope it works out for you, good luck fishing!

According to everything I read is they provide everything but clothes, beverages and a fishing license.

"This trip includes heated permanent shack, bait, tackle, rods, transportation, electronics, grill, pre-drilled holes."

What's a "groupon"? Would I need to bring a lubricant?
