Had good luck with mine this year. The bluing is diminished on mine too, mostly because the balance point is right in the receiver area so sweaty hands or wooly gloves chafe the finish off there while it's carried. I'm the third owner of the gun (since 1959),and it's still used by me every deer season.Good luck with the bluing.
If you live by Elkhorn, there is a guy right in town that does awesome work. He reblued one of my shotguns a few years back and i am pleased. Off the top of my head, I can't remember the shop name but I think it may be Elkhorn gunsmith? It is right behind the big church in town
What kind of 30/30 is it? If it's a Winchester M94 the receivers do not take a re-blue very good at all because of the metal they are made out of.
You might be surprised by how expensive it is also. If it's just a plain Jane beater 30/30 you might be better off with one of the spray on finishes.
