That buck and fawn would look great in my livingroom with full body mounts! The meat, nothing better than veniveal.

"It is one thing to shoot it on heavily hunted public land its another to shoot something that it sounds like alot of people had passed up." So any 3-1/2 year old or older buck shot on QDM land after being passed up several years by most likely multiple hunters is not fair game? In a way it is but in a way its not. Im guessing those 3.5 yo qdm bucks get quite a bit of pressure and are usually shot pretty quick. I dont know all the details but if there was a deer with very unique characteristics that was some what of a local mascot i wouldnt want to be the only one that didnt have the self restraint to shoot it.

It is one thing to shoot it on heavily hunted public land its another to shoot something that it sounds like alot of people had passed up. Its kind of thinking that the "booner" you bought from the game farm is really an accomplishment. If it was legal and on public land i would shoot it, in this case no way.

I'm very familiar with the history of this deer. It was a legend in the area but there is one woman that owns a bar out there that is outraged about it. I like most would have shot the deer. My brothers brother-inlaw is doing the full body mount on it. It was shot in the field next to his taxidermy shop. I was lucky enough to be there when the guy loaded in his truck. It is a true trophy and it would have died sooner or later. It was a father-son that shot the deer and they both were shooting at it in the open field opening day while he was dogging a doe. Just think of the memories they will share for the rest of their lives. I say good for them!

A lifetime of bad luck will fall on those who kill the white deer.

Id shoot it. I think you could compare this deer to a very large/impressive nontypical deer or even a 190 inch plus typical buck. If you would not shoot the white deer would you shoot these? All are very impressive and arguably very difficult to come by. A deer is a deer and if you deer hunt you shoot deer.

Antlers are bone sothey are basically white, the trees, brush and other stuff they rub them on and get on them is what makes them lighter or darker.

Yeah, I'd have shot it! First off, I would assume that the meat would still be tasty right? The cool mount would be the bonus. Tim

Ditto- Their rack comes from their age, health, and diet not the trees they're rubbing

What difference does his rack color make? It's colored that way from the trees he's rubbing on.
