I'm in the market for a new climber and was hoping I could save a few bucks. Do these things ever go on sale?

ONe year a week after Christmas I saw a sign up in front of Shopko saying "tree stands 75% off"! I did a U turn and ran back to their tiny little sporting goods section and asked where the treestands were for 75% off and the lady told me in the Trim a Tree section!!! Boy did I feel like a fool!

Check with your local DNR office or game warden to see when they auction off the confiscated tree stands. I was told that the tree stands they confiscate on public land are sold at auction once a year or so.

I bought a lone wolf sit and climb and love it, but always thought the seat could be more comofortable... Well, now they have the hard foam seats. I'm only 5'11" and 175 lbs, so it fit me perfectly but a buddy got one, he has a wide bottom and he weighs 50 lbs more. He hated it but now they make one with a wider seat... As far as going on sale, whenever you are looking for the top brands, they almost never go on sale. But, what I do is wait for the $20 off purchase of $100 or $40 off purchase of $250 sales at Gander or Cabelas then buy. Get on their email list by setting up online account. Sometimes they have exclusions on top brands like UnderArmour but I don't remember seeing those exclusions on treestands brands.

ESOX68 - Is your Gorilla climber the kind that folds flat with the pivoting arms? If so, I have one too. Mine got noisy so I just went to Fleet and bought some new nylon washers. Made a big difference in mine, if it helps at all. My next one will be a Summit or Lone Wolf I think.

I have a used top of the line Summit the $400 stand I may sell you. It is an amzing awesome stand, but I hunt private and just dont use so it takes up room and collects dust. I think it is the Summit Ultimate Viper with all the add ons. But it is pretty mint and I would want at least $300 for it. If interested email me. [email protected] Regardless, go with a summit (my top choice) or a lone wolf

I've been in the market for a climber for a while now and I never see them for more then $20-$30 off. I haven't bought one yet because I don't really need one, but I want one. If I see a Lone Wolf or Summit On-Sale for $75 - $100 off I am buying one that instant.

Don't know about going on sale, but get a Summit. Best stand I ever had. Got mine @ Dick's a few years ago, on sale, middle of Sept. I think.
