i have put a small chunk of crawler on the back hook of a flicker shad and it didnt improve my hits... my best lures are rattle traps the walleyes eat them up on the wisconsin river.

A 1/4 or 3/8 Oz.Yellow or white Jig Head with 3in. twisty tail grub,trolling, got us all kinds of Eyes and Northerns I Canada last year.

strange question. But does anyone tip their crank-baits with any live bait or artifical? I think it might mess up the action but just wondering??

I'm a shad rap fan too. Clown or fire tiger, using bigger ones to get to deeper bottoms. In 20 FOW or more I like a bottom bouncer with a home tied crawler harness.
