Just curious if anybody has tried using gulp or any other rubber worms while pulling crawler harnesses, Did they seem to produce just as well?

Thanks "Casting". Thought I would continue an older thread than start a new one. Good to see someone reads previous posts as to not duplicate answers.

haven't caught one on a gulp crawler yet this summer I have caught them on the leeches...those quick change clevises are junk... its a nice concept but they damage easily and lose blades too easy...

I have used gulp crawlers and they have worked. Most of the time I use them when I have many rough fish mixed in with the fish I am fishing for.

A few years ago, we were fishing in Canada and we headed out for the day and when we got to the reef, we had forgotten the crawlers. We did have some bubble power worms and cut them in half and limited out within 15 minutes.

I have a few dozen harnesses and no blades. I keep buying the ones with the white snap for changing blades quickly when on the water. I loose 2 or 3 every time out. I know I can just buy a new package of blades at Fleet. Is there a trick to keeping the blades on or just don't buy that style? Thanks in advance.

4" Gulp Crawlers work amazingly well. I don't bother with real crawlers anymore. I don't get near as many sheepshead on the gulp vs. live crawlers. That's a huge bonus. I am sure some days real would outproduce gulp, but I haven't had a bad day on gulp yet, so I keep going that route. Ben

I use gulp worms when small perch or bluegill nip the tails off the harness.

I agree. I think the real thing is better overall.

I have used power bait nightcrawlers when running out of real ones on Winnebago. However, those were pretty good days anyway, which is why I ran out of the real thing in the first place.
