Lowrance HDS7 Gen. 2
5/2/13 @ 3:57 PM
Just bought a new Lowrance HDS7 Gen. 2 locator and haven't been on the water yet. Trying to comprehend the info. in the manual is difficult for me. I'm more of a hands on learner and can't wait to try it.
Can anyone, give me a web site that I can go to or can give any tips, to bring me up to speed faster. Also what do you like or dislike about your Lowrance HDS7 Gen. 2.

Mounting my Lowrance locator turned out better that I expected. MY buddy, is an electrician, did an excellent job placing the Ran Mount, so that my wife and I can see the locator while trolling with the big motor or I'm able to pivot the locator to see it if I'm sitting in the bow using the bow mount. I'll post some pictures tomorrow for anyone that is interested.
Here you go: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Support/Product-Emulators/. If you are running windows xp or older, download and install one these, such as the LMS 522.
These are excellent tools for learning your way around a sonar/gps unit. Unfortunately, lowrance hasn't created any emulators for their HDS units, but the menu systems, paging etc are all pretty much the same as the older units contained in the emulators.
x2 on doc samsons DVDs very helpful info very easy to set up your locator for the first time the basic disk also includes structure scan set up and interpretation.
