This is not really for a tackle box but, I like to keep the owners manuals for my equipment onboard in dry storage. Electronics, trolling motor outboard etc. Especially if they are relatively new to me.
Tackle varies depending on how you like to fish and what you fish for. But, across the board, I'd say a must-have is a first aid kit. One time out fishing, I was helping my fishing partner unhook a large pike. I was using a needle nose pliers and thought I was a safe distance away, but that thing started thrashing and got a tooth gash on my middle finger down to the bone. There I sat with blood running out of my finger and nothing but scummy lake water around. The next day I went out and bought a portable first-aid kit for my boat. I've used it several times.
