well it's getting to be that time of year...winter clearance sales...and some of us are looking for a new pair of ice fishing boots. whats your favorite? what type/brand keeps your feet the warmest...which ones have you tried that didn't work out? i currently have a pair of lacrosse ice kings and they are pretty decent, feet get a little cold when sittin' for a long time...but if you want to get any place on foot it's a struggle because of their weight. i'm sure this topic has been gone through plenty but there is always room for an update. thanks for the responses.

Had the Artice Pro Muck boots and they really warm for a rubber boot but they fit a little funny and gave me bad blisters on my heals. I think they will improve the next model, or hopefully the do...because they are light, 100% waterproof and really warm, even enough to compare to "some" Pac Boots. I now use Cabelas Inferno 2000's, a little bulky and they need to lower the height a couple inches. They are extremely warm and they are waterproof. I stood in a foot of water for two minutes and didnt get wet. The Inferno's can be found at a reasonable price, got mine for $110.00. Also they are really tough, used them for hunting this year in Northern WI and walked miles in the woods without a tear or even scratch! Downside is they are heavier and bulky, but they have great traction and support.

I've got these Thorogood overboots...Man. Just wear some comfy sneakers and throw those bad boys on over 'em. Most comfortable boot ever. Feels like you're just wearing sneakers, they're super light, and my feet have never gotten a single solitary hint of cold in them. I don't really even bother dancing out of the way when the water & slush gushes out of a freshly cut hole. I hope they last me 50 years, they're that good. I can't say enough god things about them.

Had a pair of Iceman boots for 15 years, the top rubber cracked before the soles wore out. Can't say that about Sorels from the past.

I now have a pair of Rocky Blizzard stalkers, nice but stiff.

I own ( apair of Lacrosse iceman, ice king, apair of Irish setter deer tracker - gore tex and 1600 gram thinsulate. Right now; I'm breaking in a pair of Lacrosse - hunt pak extremes-Gore tex and 2000 grams thinsulate. They've all served me well! But I only wear them for certain fishing or hunting situations.Ice kings are made for sitting or walking short distances.Icemans are for moving about in colder weather. I enjoy the setters for deer hunting or taking long trips across the ice to fish. BUY a pair of good socks $ 17- 20 bucks at Gander ,Cabelas or REI. P.S. ; I'd love some feedback on those sportsmans guide boots (2000-2400) grams thinsulate for $80. I'm paying twice as much for my boots! I'm afraid I'd be wasting $80 ;maybe someone can tell me they're a decent boot.

LaCrosse Iceman. I think they may be the predecessor of the Ice King.

I haven't gone back to a "pac-boot" since being exposed to a variety of quality warm, breathable, lightweight and affordable foot gear during multiple deployments in the US ARMY. The best bang for my-buck model have been Cabela's Arctic Bruin[in 1400g Thinsulate Ultra>-they've-so far, covered everything I've thrown at them from early fall to -0 days on the ice. Just my 2.5 cents.. Wink
