Anyone ever bought any parts from Mike's reel repair in Canada? If so, how long did it take for you to receive the parts? I ordered some parts in late May and in mid July, they weren't here yet. Order status was still listed as "processing". Emailed them June 15 to cancel order and received a response a week later saying they'll refund my money. Still haven't received my refund. I personally won't be doing business with them again. Ordered a custom flute for my mom from China and it only took about a month.

I've mentioned this tactic before on other threads, but it applies here as well. I know nothing of this store, but when a dealer sells a non-stock part, he must order it from his supplier. His supplier has a minimum order for the dealer to hit to pay for freight and avoid extra expense (and maximize the dealer's margin). I would bet that "Mike's" is waiting until he gets enough demand for him to place a freight-qualifying order from his supplier, and you caught his inventory cycle at a bad time.

This problem occurs in many industries when the products you order are small in dollar value.

I've bought parts from them several times. It always seems like shipping is slow, but eventually the parts arrive. I'm not sure if it is a customs delay or what? One time it took a few months to get some Daiwa parts, when I inquired they responded that they were waiting for the parts from Daiwa Japan. In this case communications were acceptable and the parts eventually showed up. I think they are a decent outfit, they are just kinda slow. If you need parts quick try Southwestern parts and service.
