Same here with my lab, it's gotta be all the stresses involved with good shelter, quality food and fresh water! Such a rough life!
He's one of the worst snorers I have ever heard, 2- or 4-legged variety. Sleep apnea possibly? And if he's not waking me up with his snoring, he's waking me up howling, barking, running, and thumping his tail in his sleep. Amusing and frustrating at the same time when it's 2 am.
Yet I can't help but smile, no matter how crappy of day it was, when I walk through the back door and he's waiting there wagging his tail happy I'm home. Though, he's probably more happy knowing that it's time to eat!
I'm jealous of their sleeping powers too.
My shepherd has a switch like that..one minute hes chewing on a horn, the next minute hes asleep. Ive seen him sleeping with his deer antler still in his mouth.
There are nights where he roams the house most of the night though too. He goes from window to window and looks outside, then comes to "check on us " in bed. After a few cold noses on my face at night, I wish he would use his 'sleeping trick'.
